QR Shield | QR Code Scanner

Advanced QR Code Scanning and Protection

QR Shield is a QR code scanner that checks links before you open them. Scan a code, see where it goes, and get a clear Safe, Caution, or High risk verdict.

Malicious QR codes are a real scam tactic. In January 2022 the FBI warned that criminals tamper with QR codes to send people to phishing sites, steal login details, or install malware (https://www.ic3.gov/PSA/2022/PSA220118). QR Shield is built for that moment: pause, check, then decide.

How it protects you

- Checks URLs against Google Web Risk and Sophos threat data

- Flags phishing, malware, and other known-bad destinations

- Looks for hidden links inside Wi-Fi, contact, and calendar codes, not just obvious website QR codes

- Shows Safe, Caution, or High risk before you open, copy, or connect

Scan more than websites

Use QR Shield as your everyday QR reader for Wi-Fi credentials, contacts, emails, text messages, phone numbers, locations, calendar events, crypto addresses, and notes.

Private by design

No ads. No account. No registration. Scan history stays on your phone. When a code includes a link, that URL is checked so you can see the risk before you tap it. QR Shield helps you keep personal data safer, avoid phishing pages, and skip surprise malware downloads from a sticker, poster, or text you did not expect.
