Memoix

Memoix is an offline-first recipe and culinary reference tool built for real cooking.

It prioritises speed, clarity, and flexibility over structure, guidance, or engagement mechanics. No account required. No background connection. No opinion about your storage.

Import

Photograph a cookbook page, paste a URL, drop in raw text, or open a share link. Memoix normalises units, title-cases names, and converts fractions to symbols before you review a single line. A review screen lets you adjust, tag, and place the recipe before it saves. Works with most major recipe sites. Reads handwritten notebooks. Handles imperial and metric.

Cooking

Side-by-side mode keeps ingredients and directions on screen together, each column scrolling independently. Mark steps complete as you work. Long-press any timed step to start a persistent timer that keeps running in the background. Multiple timers run simultaneously. Step images open inline without leaving the recipe. Ingredient quantities scale by long-pressing the serving size.

Structure

Recipes organise by course. Component dishes link as sub-recipes and scale independently. Pair a main with its sides — detail screens show what connects, in both directions. Meal plans arrange by day and course and can be reorganised by dragging.

Sharing

Export any recipe as a share link or QR code. QR transfers work offline between devices. No account required on either end. Connect Google Drive or OneDrive optionally for backup or shared library access. Fully user-controlled.

Additional tools

* Step-linked images: pin a photo to a specific direction and open it inline mid-step

* Recipe comparison: view two recipes side by side, select what to keep, save as a new draft

* Shopping lists: build manually, generate from selected recipes, or pull from the current meal plan

* Scratch pad: draft recipes in progress and quick notes, both auto-saved

* Measurement converter and standalone kitchen timers

Memoix does not include social features, ratings, discovery feeds, or guided cooking modes. It assumes you know how to cook and want somewhere to keep that knowledge organised.
