Screen Translate

Screen Translate is a screen translator for reading text on your Android display. Use OCR to recognise visible text and view translations with floating controls.

Translate the whole screen or a selected area

Choose Full screen to translate recognised text across the current screen. Use Selected area to draw a region around a message, sentence or paragraph you want to read.

Automatic screen translation

Keep an Auto session active to update translations when visible text changes. You can stop the session when you have finished.

Choose languages and translation engines

Select the source and target language from the options supported by your chosen engine. Available languages and recognition options depend on the engine and your access to each feature.

Keep useful translations

Revisit saved history to view the original text and translation together. Search records, mark favourites, copy or share a translation, and delete entries you no longer need. Full screen and selected area results can be saved to history; Auto does not save a new entry for every frame.

Control screen access

Screen capture starts after you approve Android's permission prompt. Floating controls need permission to display over other apps. Use Stop in the app to end the capture session. Some protected screens may prevent capture.

Internet and availability

Online translation engines need an internet connection. Depending on your recognition and translation choices, text or images may be sent to online services for processing. Results vary with the language, text layout, image clarity and selected engine.

The app contains ads and offers in-app purchases. Some recognition and translation options require a purchase. Languages, engines and features may vary.
