About OLED Control: LG TV Remote
LG webOS remote with settings LG hides: auto-dimming (TPC, GSR), service menu
OLED Control is an LG TV remote for webOS that also reaches the settings your remote hides. On LG OLED TVs from 2020 (CX) on, switch auto-dimming (TPC, GSR) from your phone. Open the LG service menu without a service remote, and tune HDR, gaming and TV picture settings.
Auto-dimming controls: TPC and GSR
• Brightness Limiter (TPC) and Global Sticky Reduction (GSR), one switch each
• Available on LG OLED from 2020 (CX) on. 2019 and older models don't have them.
• Both protect the panel. Turning them off raises the risk of burn-in.
• The TV doesn't report their state, so the app shows the value you last set.
LG service menu without a service remote
• Open the EZ Adjust and InStart service menus from your phone. The TV asks for its service PIN.
• Open the HDMI Signalling Override panel (EOTF, colorimetry, HDR metadata) on TVs with webOS 26 firmware
• An on-screen remote in the app moves through these TV menus
TV picture settings
• Picture mode, OLED Pixel Brightness, contrast, black level, color, sharpness, motion and the AI picture options
• HDR: Dynamic Tone Mapping (On, Off, HGiG), plus Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro on 2024 and newer models
• White balance with the 2-, 10- or 22-point method, and the color management system
• Save picture presets and apply a whole setup in one tap
Gaming
• Prevent Input Delay, VRR & G-Sync, AMD FreeSync, Black Stabilizer and White Stabilizer
• 4:4:4 Pass Through on 2023 and newer models, and on 2022 models with webOS 26 firmware
• QMS-VRR from 2023, 144/165 Hz mode from 2024 on TVs with that panel, Quick Frame Transport from 2025
TV remote control
• An LG remote on your phone: power, volume, channels, D-pad, Home, Back, inputs and installed apps
• Turn the TV on over the network when its "Turn on via Wi-Fi" option is on
• Two Home Screen widgets: a compact and a large remote
• Use it as an everyday LG webOS remote, or keep it next to your LG Magic Remote for the settings the Magic Remote can't reach
Model support
• As an LG smart TV remote, the app works with LG webOS TVs. The picture and service tools make it an LG OLED remote first.
• The app uses each TV's model year and webOS release to hide settings that TV doesn't have
• Checked on a real 2025 LG G5, and against LG firmware for the 2019 C9, 2021 C1 and 2026 G6
• What you see still depends on model, firmware, input and picture mode
Premium
The remote, app launcher and widgets work without Premium. Picture, gaming and service menu settings and presets need Premium, through Google Play:
• Weekly: $2.99
• Lifetime: $19.99, a one-time purchase
Prices are in US dollars; Google Play shows the price for your country. Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in Google Play.
