Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is expected to be the next major chapter in Insomniac Games’ acclaimed superhero series. Following the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the game could continue the stories of Peter Parker and Miles Morales while introducing new heroes, villains, and challenges across a larger version of New York City. However, it is important to note that Insomniac Games has not officially announced the title, so many details currently come from industry reports, leaks, and fan speculation.

The story could begin after the dramatic ending of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Peter Parker temporarily steps away from active superhero work to focus on his personal life, while Miles becomes New York’s main Spider-Man. Nevertheless, Peter’s story is not necessarily finished. Peter’s voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, has suggested that the character will return and remain important to the next game. This has encouraged fans to believe that Peter may eventually return to the action when the city faces a threat too powerful for Miles to handle alone.

One of the most discussed possibilities is the introduction of Cindy Moon, also known as Silk. In Marvel Comics, Cindy is another character who gains spider-like abilities and becomes a superhero. Some leaked information and reports have suggested that she could appear in the game, possibly as a playable character. If this happens, players may be able to switch between Peter, Miles, and Silk, creating a more varied combat system and allowing each hero to have unique abilities, movement styles, and personal missions. However, Silk’s playable status has not been confirmed.

The next major villain could be Norman Osborn. At the end of the previous game, Norman was shown searching for a way to save his son, Harry. This storyline could lead to his transformation into the Green Goblin, one of Spider-Man’s most famous enemies. A Green Goblin storyline would give the series a deeply personal conflict, especially because Norman’s actions could affect Peter, Miles, Harry, and the wider city. Other possible threats include Doctor Octopus, the Chameleon, Venom, and new enemies connected to the growing Marvel universe.

Gameplay is also expected to receive several improvements. The previous title introduced fast character switching, expanded web-swinging, gliding, and a much larger open world. A third game could build on these systems with more dynamic crimes, improved enemy artificial intelligence, new traversal abilities, and more detailed side missions. Players may also see new districts beyond the familiar areas of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. A larger world would provide more opportunities for exploration, secret locations, collectibles, and unexpected encounters.

Although no release date has been announced, current reports suggest that the game may still be several years away. Some industry speculation points to a release around 2028 or later, especially because Insomniac is also developing Marvel’s Wolverine. The final platform has not been confirmed either, but the game is likely to launch first on PlayStation hardware before potentially arriving on PC.

For now, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 remains an unannounced but highly anticipated project. With Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and possibly Silk sharing the spotlight, the game could become the most ambitious entry in Insomniac’s Spider-Man universe.
