Secret Screenshot: Private App

Secret Screenshot is a private screenshot app: tap a floating screenshot button, capture your screen, and keep every secret screenshot in a hidden gallery locked with your PIN or fingerprint.

Before you install: protected screens (banking apps, streaming video, view-once photos and some profile photos) block every kind of capture. On those screens the capture is blank. No app can change that, and we tell you when it happens.

How a secret screenshot works

The phone's own screenshot fires a system event and saves the picture to your public photos. Secret Screenshot does not use that system screenshot. It captures the screen with Android's screen capture and saves it inside the app.

Common questions

Is this a screenshot without notification?

The app never triggers the system screenshot, so the system shows no screenshot notice and nothing lands in your photos. Some apps can check whether their screen is being captured, so we cannot promise how each app behaves.

Why does Android ask for permission each time?

Android asks before each capture session and shows its own capture icon on your phone while it runs. This keeps you in control.

Can I save a private screenshot to my gallery later?

Yes. Open it and tap Save to gallery. It is copied to your phone's Pictures folder, where other apps can see it. If you uninstall the app, captures you did not save are deleted.
