GreenTunnel VPN: Fast & Secure

GreenTunnel VPN is a local VPN. It uses Android's VPN feature (VpnService) to handle your connections right on your phone. By default your traffic goes straight to the sites you visit. It never passes through a server of ours, because we do not run any.

WHAT IT DOES

• DPI bypass: some networks use Deep Packet Inspection filters that can block legitimate websites. GreenTunnel reshapes the first packets of a connection (for example by splitting the TLS handshake) so the filter does not misread them, while the website still receives the same data. Use Auto mode, or pick the technique yourself.

• Encrypted DNS: domain lookups are encrypted with DNS over HTTPS or DNS over TLS and sent to Cloudflare, Google or Quad9, or to a DoH address you enter.

• Your lists: block the domains you never want to reach, and keep sites such as your bank on the Always direct list so they are never changed.

• Requester: a live list of the domains each app connects to, with the app's name. GreenTunnel does not decrypt HTTPS and never reads what you send or receive. This list stays on your phone.

• Inspect URL: check whether a site is blocked on your network, with and without GreenTunnel.

• Quick controls: Quick Settings tile, home screen widget, notification actions and support for the system's Always-on VPN.

SMART ROUTING (PREMIUM)

• Proxy Route: send traffic through a proxy you own or trust (an encrypted HTTPS or Shadowsocks proxy). Add it by hand, from a link or by scanning a QR code.

• Tunnel Link: connect through your own WireGuard server while GreenTunnel keeps running.

• Rules: choose which domains or apps use which route.

Traffic only goes to a remote server after you add one and select it. You choose the server, and its operator can see the traffic you send through it. GreenTunnel does not provide or run these servers.

PREMIUM AND ACCOUNT

GreenTunnel is free and may show ads. Premium removes ads and unlocks Smart Routing (Proxy Route and Tunnel Link) and the per-app filter in Requester. Choose a monthly, 3-month, 6-month or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Everything else in the app is free. Signing in with Google, Apple or email is optional and only keeps Premium on all your devices. You can cancel the subscription in Google Play and delete your account in the app at any time.

WHAT GREENTUNNEL DOES NOT DO

• It does not hide your IP address or change your location, unless you send traffic through a proxy or tunnel you choose.

• It is not an anonymity service.

• It does not decrypt HTTPS.

• Your VPN traffic and browsing are never used for ads.

YOUR DATA

• Your browsing is never sent to us: no domains, URLs, IP addresses or traffic content.

• Firebase Analytics records app usage events, such as "protection turned on", and Firebase Crashlytics sends crash reports. They help us fix problems.

• If you sign in, we keep your email address and account ID to link your purchase. Purchase history is handled by RevenueCat.

• Ads come from Google AdMob. They are personalized only if you allow it, using your advertising ID, and non-personalized otherwise. To show ads and prevent fraud, AdMob receives limited device and usage data, such as a device identifier, approximate location from your IP address and ad interactions. Ads never see your VPN traffic or browsing. Premium users see no ads.
