  Crash alerts can now be cleared with the phone sideways in its mount. If a crash is detected while the app isn't recording, it starts recording and saves the next 30 seconds; if it is recording, the 30 seconds after the crash are saved too. Animal alerts come a little sooner when the phone is hot. The green light alert catches more lights turning green, and the speedometer no longer shows wrong speeds after a short GPS dropout.

  The green light alert now chimes only when a light you were stopped at turns green, and only once per stop, so a flashing signal or the next lane's green no longer sets it off. It also reads traffic lights that hang sideways. When GPS drops out for a moment on the highway, the app no longer reads it as 0 mph: the speedometer keeps your last speed, and the alerts don't take it for a stop.

  Animal detection now takes a closer look at the road ahead, so deer and other animals farther away are spotted sooner. The green light alert no longer mistakes blue sky or trees behind a traffic light for a green light, which could make it chime at a red light on sunny days.

  New for Pro: a green light alert. When you're stopped at a red light, DriveSight chimes as soon as it turns green. You can turn it off in Settings > Alerts & Sounds. Traffic lights are also recognized much better at night.

  The speed panel now shows your GPS coordinates under the compass and your altitude next to it, in plain white text that's easier to read. New users get 2 free drives with every Pro feature before Pro locks. The Unlock buttons on the Maps tab and on alert cards, and the Upgrade card in Settings, now open the upgrade screen. The upgrade screen never opens on its own while you drive.
